![]() ![]() This is a very nice example of a scarce Springfield Model 1903A1 Special Target configuration rifle. The rifle is equipped with a very good M1905 sling. The buttplate has fine checkering with a trap. There are no firing proof or inspection stamps. The stock has the D1836 part number stamp on the bottom of the butt. The pistol grip C stock and handguard are excellent. ![]() The face of the rear sight ladder is polished. The bolt is polished bright and is marked B2 on the handle. The bore is excellent with bright, strong rifling. The Special Target rifle was described from 1931 to 1935 as a reconditioned National Match rifle with the type C pistol grip stock and with the specially designed National Match parts replaced with standard parts. 30-06 caliber Special Target 1903A1 Springfiled rifle is serial number 1328462. ![]()
